On the night of the 26th we passed the Columbian city of Categena and continued a further 150 miles to the stunning San Blas Islands. Reminiscent of the Tuamotu’s, the first set of Cays (the Hollandaise Cays) are fantastically beautiful. We transited the easily navigable pass after spending a pitch black morning periodically illuminated by lightning. A mild GI bug seems to have been passed around the crew of Khulula over the past day or so and everyone is in need of some R and R (and sleep). We plan to be here for a day or so to search out some waves, do a garbage study, and then onwards to find an airport for Matt Delaney’s return to Canada. Right now though, the crew is enjoying Tea (and Rusks – thanks Thea!) while breakfast sizzles on a flat boat.
Whoop!
