Ooo… its so close we can almost smell it!!! Oh, no wait, that’s just me. Darkness has fallen, and we hope the dawn will bring with it views of Fernando de Norohna’s rocky peaks and white sand beaches. Last night was our first real dose of tropical rain squalls. Both Mike and Bryson got a torrential rain shower on their shifts followed by winds to 30 knots for 5 minutes. Tonight is looking much more benign, with the milky way lighting up the sky from horizon to horizon. Hugh’s home-made fishing lure was struck at dusk today, but the fish managed to get free after a minute or noble battling. Fingers crossed for the dawn.
