The Volvo Ocean Race is the world’s premier around-the-world sailing race. Professional teams, comprising of the worlds best sailors and manufacturers, put everything into trying to win the elite Volvo Ocean Race title. Covering approximately 72 000km’s over 10 months, this is not a race for the faint of heart. Yet, despite the billions of dollars spend on the Volvo Ocean Race, these technological miracles of sailboats are still just as vanable to marine debris as anyone else. Currently, the boats are in the staits of Malacca and witnessing some of the marine debris we saw on Khulula as we sailed through Indonesian waters.
