1/3 of all airline passengers catch a sickness on their flight. Last week Hugh fell victim to the odds, arriving back to Khulula with a nasty cold. Despite a fairly strict quarantine regime by both Ryan and Bryson, on Monday of this week Bryson began to feel the symptoms of the sickness too. Well, with those odds, it was only really a matter of time before Ryan fell victim as well, so it was no surprise when he crawled into his berth this morning looking much worse for wear.

The silver lining to this cloud is that we’ve been blessed with a perfect wind and favorable current. So while the crew nurses themselves in various states of ill health, Khulula rockets along happily on her own, requiring only minor sail trim and wheel adjustments to maintain speed and stay on course.
The disregard for proper disposal of plastic and garbage in Indonesia has been evident this past couple of days. We’ve seen floating bottles and various other bits of rubbish. We’re quite interested to study the debris on the beaches of Cocos (Keeling) as it is directly down-wind of Indonesia; in the path off all the floating trash that leaves the islands.
