Khulula is once again at sea, what a surprise. The sun is low on the horizon, casting spectacular oranges and reds across the wind swept seas. We are sailing almost due west, so the sun is hidden behind the sails rendering them an orangy pinky colour. It is a spectacular evening…

Bryson is making Gin and Juice sundowners, Hugh is upstairs on shift reading his book. I have just woken from an hour long nap, to the smell of fresh baked scones. Things are good. Things are very good. We are sheltered by the southernmost of the Tanimbar islands, a situation that should last for another 20 miles, SO it could still turn into a rolly night. We have set a course around the northern edge of the infamous East Timor en route to Roti (533 nm to go) and our meeting with Shane Robinson and Steph vonCitters, our guests for the next three weeks. There is roughly 500 miles between Roti and Bali, a distance we will cover in about 6 weeks. ahhh….

This is the last large voyage of Khulula until we depart from Bali in early October, and we are eager for it to be over. Since 14 June we have covered 2500 miles and slept at sea for all but 5 nights.
