Toques – check, long johns – check, foul weather gear – check, warm cup of tea – check, trying to stay warm in the cockpit – check. A grey, drizzling and overcast morning greeted me as I emerged from my warm bed to take my 5am shift this morning. Andrew “Moose” Millar, on his way off shift, was bright eyed and bushy tailed in comparison to my half sedated state as I tried to negotiate the intricate workings of my lifevest/harness. Now, with a cup of tea in hand, everything seems pretty splendid. We are back at sea and slowly plodding our way out past the offshore islands and back into true blue water. Everyone is excited get into the routines of passage making and work their way through the piles on books on hand ! Yeeehawww, Hawaii here we come !
