Anchored off of Playa Gigante. Ryan here, it is FANTASTIC to be back on board Khulula for the first time since December. Also on board is film maker Andrew Naysmith who will be shooting piles of footage for the Oceangybe movie. Gigante is a stunning little anchorage, even better with the delicious rosy feeling of fatigue that comes after a long satisfying surf session in the tropics. The previous two days have been filled to the brim, firstly doing a school presentation and beach cleanup with the folks from Paso Pacifico at a local beach called Ostional (more on this later) and secondly the inevitable day of provisioning: Food, gas, diesel, fresh water, fresh fruit and veggies. We departed windy and dusty San Juan del Sur at around noon and dispatched the 11 mile passage with aclarity. The plan for the next couple of days is to catch up with old friends now living in Gigante, and same the local surf before heading up the coast before the next Papagayo (fearsome offshore gale) hits.
