Wet wet wet! Khulula is sailing through an atmospheric trough. What does that mean? It means clouds and rain squalls. Over the past 24 hours there has been more rain than ‘not rain’ and Khulula and crew are ready for their rinsing to end! The cloudy weather has been a nice reprieve from the sun, however, and the forecast is for better weather and stronger winds from the south east. This trough will move east as a new high pressure ridges in from the west. All is very well on board, the fresh fruit and veggies are dwindling and it is almost time to break into Neil Heistra’s dehydrated stock pile! All that remains of the fresh meat are a few sticks of salami and a pack of sausages, but luckily our fishing luck has been holding out with the odd Dorado donating itself to the cause. We are pretty much slap bang in the middle of the Indian Ocean – roughly due south of Sri Lanka, and equidistant between Australia and Africa. Another 7 days to Rodriguez and 10 to Mauritius!! Saaaailing, we are saaailing, through the waaaater, acrosss the seaa…. dum deeee dum dum…. mmmmm, mmm, mmmmmmmm, mmmmm
