After a bit of an uncomfortable ride yesterday, the seas settled down last night. We had a cruisey night shift with plenty of stars and good sailing. We’ve hit a bit of a dry spell fishing over the past 24 hours. Despite dragging a lure all day yesterday and this morning, no unsuspecting Mahi Mahi or Tuna has taken the bait. However, we did get a report from a boat who is a few days ahead of us that this stretch of ocean didn’t provide them with any tasty pelagic morsels either, so we’re not too surprised. The reduced number of flying fish in the air and dead on our deck in the morning is also a sign of the reduced number of larger predators. In other news, this morning we sailed past a white hand-bag floating just below the surface. Ladies? Anyone? Slightly used white hand-bag?
