The smells of a cooked and served Mahi Mahi fish pie as well as that of fresh bread baking in the oven fills the cabin of Khulula. The sounds of warm Indian Ocean water casts soothing overtones on the chilled out beats of Bob Marley and the wailers, as the crew passes another day of passage making. Life is good. You may have noticed that our destination has changed. Who were we kidding with setting a course to Rodriguez, 350 miles short of our penultimate destination of 2007, Mauritius? I guess it is easier to contemplate departing on a 2000 mile passage than a 2350 one! mmm, what has happened in the last 24 hours? I haven’t been hit by any more flying fish, of that I am certain. Dave caught a nice Mahi Mahi and learned the techniques of filleting this colourful creature. Tomorrow is a huge day for s/v Khulula, with us reaching a major milestone. No details yet (those will come tomorrow), but we are contemplating a suitable celebration!
