Another beautiful morning on SV Khulula. Yet today is different, today the air seems to be charged with electricity, today we are all a little on edge, it is as though we are all waiting to pick up a girl for a first date. Today, after 16 months at sea, after some 15 000 sea miles, after untold numbers of squalls, sail repairs, wave dousing’s, mahi mahi dinners, broken parts, nervous weather watching hours, boat repairs and everything else that goes along with sailing a boat around the world…. Today we will reach the HALFWAY POINT !!!!!! Cabo San Lucas on the Baja Peninsula is located at 22 deg 53’N, 109 deg 52’W, therefore a point on exactly the other side of the world would be located at 22 deg 53’S and 70 deg 08’E. We will pass within about 60nm of this point today, some time around afternoon tea and cookies(around 4pm-ish). A blog with all of our thoughts will be forthcoming, but right now Ryan and Hugh sleep as the boat slowly continues to move eastwards towards another destination and another adventure.
