This is a big thank you to Ms. Kippen and Ms. Grant’s classes at Capitol Elementary School in North Burnaby and Ms. Chamberlin, divisions 6C, 6W and the two other homerooms at Collingwood School in West Van who welcomed Oceangybe in to speak. All the students at both schools were really engaged during the presentations and didn’t hesitate to fire out some great questions through out.

Its always a humbling to speak with young kids; the critical questions they ask and logical leaps they make often show learning beyond their years.

We’ll be at Quest University next week… we’ll see how they compare to the 10 and 11 year olds!

Below is an e-mail Anna Georgepoulos, a student of Ms. Kippans at Capitol Elementary School…

Hi Bryson,

My name is Anna.I am in her class and she told the class about all the garbage and how you are doing a 3 year process. That is AMAZING. Hugh came to talk to us about it, and boy,I have to say what he told us is great. I was so interested in what he told us and what you guys are doing. When there is a storm do you guys get scared? How bad does the water look when there is garbage in it? Do u have a brother named Ryan, If you do I went on youtube and i saw him on an interview. Back to my questions. You guys have inspired me in so many ways. Oceangybe.com is really great. Hope you are having and had a good time on you three year adventure, and have a safe one again too!:D

It is incredible to get this sort of feedback from student and knwo that you are making a difference, even if it is one school classroom at a time. Thanks for the kind words, Anna.
