Flying along, driving through waves, spray flying, wet cockpit, all hatches closed, fans on high, sweating,… would all be excellent descriptors for today. We are still close hauled and hauling in these conditions. This morning and early afternoon had heavier winds but we made great headway, now the wind has started to shift to the NE and we are able to make a better course. We are taking advantage of this shift and trying to get further offshore. There is both more current out there and it will give us more leeway to sail a more comfortable course over the next couple days. The Amazon is directly west of us, but we are yet to see any evidence of the world’s largest river… yet.
