Well, the sun is rising after a very squally night. As each dark menacing mass approached in the gloom, the winds would slowly rise (up to 35 knots) and Khulula would respond by coming alive and start flying down each wave, as though running from the approaching storm. Next, the soft pitter-patter of rain could be heard on the decks, as complete darkness covered the boat. Each time a squall hit, we would be running blindly, surfing down invisible waves for the next 10 – 20 mins before one could feel the wind start to dissipate and Khulula start bobbing around in the post-squall confused seas, just trying to keep going…Time: 0600
