Anchored in Isla Santa Catalina, Panama.

Happy New Year all! Just got back from another session at the point at Santa Catalina; too bad everybody else in Panama did too! Yikes, what a crowd. Well, despite the crowds, Rob, Robb, Tammy and I did manage to pick off a few right-handers at the famous wave at Santa Catalina. And even though the talk in the line-up was of the waves ‘last week’, the ocean did deliver us some really nice head high surf last night and again today. The internet oracles all predict rapidly declining swell after today, so the plan is to look for a nice island to spend some time at for Robb and Tammy’s last few days on the boat.

We also had a nice surprise of running into two friends, Liz and Steve, from Vancouver. We knew they had plans to be in Panama around this time, but thought they were to stay on the east coast. A rare flat-spell at Bocas del Toro brought them over to the west coast, so we all got to ring in the New Year together.
