The air temperature dropped markedly over the past 24 hours confirming that yes in fact, we are sailing north. The conditions continue to be ridiculously good (more to come on that) as we make our way towards the gyre. Yesterday also so a marked increase in the number of larger plastic pieces floating on the waters surface, including a funny looking construction hard-hat. We are now a few hundred miles south of its statistical center, however still quite far west. Winds are forecast to drop over the next day and we’ll be hanging a right to have a better look.
