Some more perfect sailing for Khulula as we make our way up the coast. Our sailing conditions now are dominated by daily on-shore and off-shore winds. Usually around 10am the wind starts to fill in from the north-west as the land heat up, sucking the cooler air from the sea towards it. These winds peak around 2pm, then slowly die til around 10pm. Yesterday this gave us a great sail up the coast. By midnight the winds have virtually disappeared. Around 3 am the offshore breezes begin. Now the land is cooler than the sea, and the effect is reversed. These winds are lighter than the on-shores, but still give us just enough to sail. These winds usually die off around 9 or so in the morning. We made a brief stop in Acapulco for pastries, bananas, and diesel. Now we’re on our way to Zihuatanejo. We’re hoping to spend a few days up there, enjoying a more chilled out Mexican town.
