We have just arrived in the safety of Chatham Bay, Union Islands, the Grenadines after a harrowing passage across from the Tabago Cays. The wind was blowing and the waves rocking us to such an extent that Ian almost fell out of the hammock strung on the spinnaker pole. Despite the extensive distance we needed to cover (almost 8 nm !), the crew decided it was more important to have the hammock up than to sail, so we motored over.

The Tabago Cays are incredible, both in their beauty and the number of charter and personal yachts anchored there. We snorkeled with tons of turtles, gathered coconuts from the beaches, and summited the mountainous peaks of the atolls (at least 50m high). In the evening, a couple charter catamarans decided to anchor a bit too close for comfort to ol’ Khulula, so we were forced to break out Hugh’s Djembe drum and our new conch shell and make a racket until they decided to anchor elsewhere.
Hugh is still searching for Elizabeth Swan (aka Kiera Knightly) from Pirates of the Caribbean… no luck yet, she must be here somewhere.
