The crew of s/v Khulula is well rested, happy and ready for this short hop, skip and a jump from Rodriguez to Mauritius. It is a grey overcast and very rolly morning as we sail directly down wind (DDW) in a wing-on-wing format. For the non-sailors, this means that the Genoa (headsail) is poled out on one side of the boat, with the main sail on the other – like a bird, one sail on each side. Leaving Rodriguez yesterday we caught a really nice Mahi Mahi (where are the Tuna?) which should give us easily enough fish to get us to Mauritius. Not much else to report other than that all is well on board and smiles abound (from Hugh and myself anyway, being the only two that are awake!)
