First night at sea, on our last major passage of 2008, was an extremely pleasant one. We really couldn’t have asked for better sailing conditions. The seas are calm, the wind is blowing perfectly and we are cruising along. In our group of about 5 boats heading to South Africa; some are ahead and will provide excellent weather reports for us, some are behind and will ensure we keep moving so as not to loose the “race”. After three days on Reunion filling up with food, relaxing and surfing on one of the best days of the year at the infamous St Leu, we are feeling completely ready for this possibly rough passage to SA. So great weather, surf satiated, and a fresh spanish mackerel in the fridge, all is well on SV Khulula.
