Brrr! Who turned on the cold? We’re now experiencing South winds, which have pretty much blown straight across the frozen ice fields of Antarctica, up the iceberg strew Southern Ocean and onto any exposed piece of skin of the hearty crew of Khulula. Conditions were so harsh outside last night that I (Hugh) resorted to wearing woolen long underwear, socks and boots to survive the elements. In the cabin, temperatures dipped to a frigid 22 degrees celcius. The upside is that the unpleasant beating conditions we had yesterday have given way to a much more comfortable point of sail. Throughout the day the wind slowly shifted from directly on the nose, to off our port beam. Sails were eased and there was much rejoicing.
