Wow, what a night. Last night we had gusts of wind up to 40 knots, breaking seas and were rocketing along at up to 9 knots with just a scrap of headsail and main. We got a weather forecast that showed the winds off the coast of Columbia were increasing over the next two days. Hence we diverted course and headed to the closest safe anchorage. Santa Marta / Gaira is the Columbian’s resort town to get away from it all and has spectacular flat calm waters ! We couldn’t be happier. So while the Saturday night party just starts to get ramped up on shore, the crew of Khulula is getting ready for some much needed sleep after a very hectic night. Ryan joins us tomorrow so everyone is getting ready for a good day tomorrow.
