Wow, what a crazy day sail ! Up early this morning (at 6am) to meet our new pilot and head towards the Pacific Ocean Locks. Early considering the fine Panama Canal guards were nice enough to drive their huge motor boat a couple miles across the lake, just to bring us ice for our drinks at 11pm last night !

Gatun lake was stunning this morning as we motored across, heading for the locks. Picture-perfect dead calm water broken only by the wakes of Khulula, her two accompanying sailboats and about 500 GIANT tanker ships ! Really neat to see those behemoth vessels up close. Travel through the locks went extremely smoothly, and we were greeted into the Pacific Ocean by a huge thunder and rain storm, soaking the smiling crew to the bone for hours.
